First off, I like the idea to encourage the player base to help each other. Sort of how people will try to resurrect downed players. Second, it would have to be implemented way differently than described. Any type of flat extra reward would allow for insane exploitation. Not to mention, people have 2nd accounts and what not.

Beginner's Guide to Strike Missions (ft. Necromancer) Great guide. I find Strike Missions really accessible (except boneskinner maybe) but not alot of new 80s know about them. Doing the min 3 easy strike missions a day is easy and quick, and works them towards pieces of ascended.
Negating damage in the first place is very important in this game. Most common one would be dodging away, but you can also use blocks, or evasion (Greatsword skill 4) or healing (healing signet + addrenal healing) r/Guildwars2.

My personal favorites gem store purchases include unbreakable gathering tools, more bag, character, and bank slots, and a world boss teleport device. It definitely depends on what you value and want to do.
When has the ability to switch weapons (should be level 10 or 11) give her the Greatsword as a secondary weapon. That's what i meant. Like, it's not on by default but you can "tag up" at any time during your "newbie" period until X hours played or whatever the criteria would be. Also, nothing should really be forced on new players, especially something like this that would affect their choice how they play the game.
